Stewkley Development were left frustrated after a 2–2 draw at home against Deanshanger Reserves in a match where the hosts enjoyed the lion’s share of possession but failed to turn dominance into clear chances.
Tommas Rivers opened the scoring early in the first half for Stewkley, finishing confidently after a well-timed assist from Luca Boucher. Despite controlling the tempo for large spells, Stewkley were undone by two lapses at the back, allowing Deanshanger to capitalise with a pair of goals against the run of play.
Josh Pollard salvaged a point late on, reacting quickest to tuck away a rebound and level the score. While Stewkley will be disappointed not to take all three points, they’ll be buoyed by another strong performance in midfield – though sharper defending and more clinical finishing will be key going forward.
